Cirque Du Soleil’s Kurios – Cabinet of Curiosities

Only a few minutes’ drive from The Kingsford Brisbane Airport, this January and February, Cirque Du Soleil brings you Kurios – Cabinet of Curiosities held at Northshore Hamilton. The performance brings together talented 50 performers including contortionists, dancers, yoyo masters, and acrobatic gymnasts.

The story is set in the latter half of the 19th century and is centred around a scientist called The Seeker that believes a hidden world exists that is home to some of the craziest and outlandish ideas.

Kurios will have you holding your breath and grasping your seat as performers jump through the air, dangle midair and perform the most impossible acts you have ever seen.

Brisbane Comedy Festival

21 February – 22 March 2020

Bringing the funny to Brisbane from February to March is the Brisbane Comedy Festival. One of Australia’s fastest-growing comedy festivals, this year you’ll be able to watch performances from some of the most talented and funniest comedians in the country. Late up comedy will be held at different locations around Brisbane including the Brisbane Powerhouse, Brisbane City Hall, The Tivoli, The Fortitude Music Hall, and Newstead Brewing Co.

Expect brilliant performances from lauded comedians like Akmal, Andrew Hansen, Fiona O’Loughlin, Frank Woodley, Jimoin, Matt Okine, Peter Helliar, Stephen K Amos and many more.

The Opening Gala for the Brisbane Comedy Festival will be held at Brisbane City Hall.

Lunar New Year

Brisbane Chinatown

Lunar New Year is on January the 25th and is a celebration of the year of the Rat. Come and join the celebrations in Fortitude Valey’s Chinatown on Sat 1 February. The celebrations will include lion and dragon dancers, fire shows, traditional music, cultural performances, workshops, and street performances.
